History Series: The Leadership & Legacy of President Dwight D. Eisenhower

Speaker, Gar Schulin presents a revealing 60-minute retrospective into the deep
character, integrity, human qualities, excellent judgment and sage leadership of
General Eisenhower as Commander-In-Chief (1953 to 1961), as related by the
accounts of those who knew him during his White House years.  Deeply personal
glimpses of the enormously popular President Eisenhower and his beloved wife Mamie,  
who both enjoyed living in the White House after decades of transient U.S. Army
life, will be included. This is a free event, sponsored by the Southern Fauquier

Fauquier County Civil War Round Table

The purpose of the Fauquier Civil War Roundtable is to provide a framework for
persons to learn and exchange views about our country's history during the period
of the U.S. Civil War. Started in the Fall of 1998, the Roundtable is a membership
group open to all with an interest in this period of our history, regardless where they
live or which side they favor. Speaker to be announced.

Winemakers Dinner at Naked Mountain Vineyard

Naked Mountain Winery..... Reception 6:30-7pm; Seated at 7pm

The dinners offer a wonderful opportunity to meet new people while experiencing high
quality Virginia wines paired with exquisite dishes.
Dinners are held on Saturday evening, with doors opening at 6:30pm. Reception is from
6:30 until 7:00pm, where guests can mingle throughout the tasting room and deck while
enjoying aperitif wine and passed appetizers. Guests are seated around 7:00pm to enjoy
four more courses paired with Naked Mountain wines. Each course and wine will be

11th Annual Remington 5k Turkey Trot

Registration begins at 9am; Race starts 10am

Come and join us for the 11th Annual Remington 5K Turkey Trot! The ever-coveted
Thanksgiving turkeys, pumpkin pies and poinsettias will be awarded to all 1st, 2nd
and 3rd place division winners. There are eleven divisions in both male and female
age categories.
Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a long sleeve special event t-shirt on race
day. T-shirts purchased on race day will be available for pick-up two weeks following
the event or can be mailed for an additional fee.

Heritage Lecture Series - Founding Veterans in Fauquier Family Cemeteries

Speakers: Lorry & Larry Payne
A pictorial tour of numerous local family cemeteries, highlighting the graves of
Fauquier veterans from the French and Indian War, Revolutionary War, and the
War of 1812.  As we tour the county you will learn about theses founding fathers,
based on manuscripts, legal documents and family histories.  Included in the program
is the oldest known inscribed tombstone in Fauquier County. Learn how to research
a cemetery and how to help report and preserve these fading historical resources.
Sponsored by the Fauquier Heritage Institute, this monthly lecture series is held
on the third Sunday of each month (unless otherwise noted) at the John Barton
