Washington, D.C. area, Aspen Dale Winery at the Barn is a boutique winery
that offers a unique experience for wine lovers. 

The legacy of Aspen Dale’s revolutionary-era agricultural experience drives
our stewardship of this bucolic, Northern Fauquier County, Virginia winery. 
The lure of days gone by will tug at your heart strings from the time you enter.

At Aspen Dale Winery at the Barn, we have endeavored to capture the best
of Colonial and European wine making techniques and blendings. The
ambience of the 200 year-old barn winery and thoroughbred horse farm
inspires us daily. Our passion for history, horses and wines has found a

This beautiful, open winery offers a large wine bar, underground
production facilities where guests can take a guided or self-guided
tour and see the wine being made in the barrel room, crush pad,
and steel tank room.

The winery has some of the most breathtaking views in the region,
situated just below the Blue Ridge across from Little Cobbler Mountain
and surrounded by cattle and horse ranches. From the huge stone patio
guests can watch the sunset over the mountains and step off the patio
directly into the vineyard. Everywhere you turn there is beauty and calm.
The estate-grown varieties include Traminette, Seyval Blanc, Merlot, Chambourcin, Vidal Blanc, Petit Verdot and Petit Manseng.

Hours of Operation: Open everyday except Tuesdays, 11am - 6pm

Located in Middleburg, Boxwood Winery lies in the very northern part of
Fauquier County. This state-of-the-art winery and vineyard was begun by
John Kent Cooke. Boxwood produces red wine in three styles in the
Bordeaux tradition from seven varities of grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon,
Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec.

Visitors are welcome by appointment for a tour and tasting at the Winery.
Tours last approximately 45 minutes and are limited to 6 people per tour.

A satellite tasting room in downtown Middleburg is open to the public

All grapes used to make Linden wines are grown in the mountains
surrounding the winery. As winegrowers we are primarily interested in how
each vineyard site is expressed in the glass. Our white wines have subtle
minerality, verve and vibrant acidity. Our red wines show earth, depth and
structure. Our wines age quite well and we often release them many years
past vintage.

Wine Tasting Fee: We offer complimentary tastings, but for those interested
in greater depth, on weekends we offer a special reserve cellar tasting for

Discover the First Family of American wine. There are few places that
can boast the depth of Virginia wine history that Philip Carter Winery
reflects. The family carries a two hundred and fifty year legacy as maker
of the first recognized fine wine in America. It was Charles Carter, who,
in 1762, sent the London Society for the Encouragement of the Arts a dozen
bottles of his Virginia wine. The society awarded Carter a gold medal as
the first person to make a "spirited attempt towards the accomplishment
of their views, respecting wine in America." Located in Hume, Philip Carter
Winery is seated on 27 acres of rolling hills in the heart of Fauquier
County's Wine Country.

Three Fox Vineyards is all about “La Dolce Vita”, the sweet life. We grow
mainly Italian varieties on site: Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Pinot Grigio as
well as Cabernet Franc and Viognier from the south of France. Established
in 2002, Three Fox Vineyards sits on 50 acres of rolling countryside in the
middle of Virginia’s hunt country. We have meadows for picnics and
spectacular views all around. Light Fare is available.

Our meadow along the banks of historic Crooked Run is a peaceful,
tranquil place, with picnic tables, hammocks, and the soothing sound
of burbling waters.  We now have two carts which can bring you wine or
pick you up so as to avoid the walk.  Just check in at the Tasting
Room when you arrive, head on down to the meadow, and give the
tasting room a call if you need more wine or a lift!
