Journey back in time to the summer of 1774, a season of unrest and western expansion. Join Royal Governor Dunmore and Lord Fairfax as they gather troops from nearby counties as they prepare for an expedition to the west. Get up-close and personal with history. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and smells of the Virginia frontier. Activities include recruitment and enlistment ceremonies, unit drills, weapons demonstrations, and camp cooking.

Explore the aftermath of this battle which resulted in the Treaty of Camp Charlotte, giving to Virginia the Shawnee claims to all lands south of the Ohio River (modern day Kentucky and West Virginia). The political fallout from this expedition is often cited as fueling anti-Crown sentiment in Virginia, leading to the American Revolution just a few years later.
