The Rokeby Farm property has a long and storied history as an icon of the Virginia Piedmont. Operated today by the Oak Spring Garden Foundation, Rokeby is a place where agriculture, art, learning, and community thrive together in the beautiful countryside. We are thrilled to invite you to the second annual Rokeby Community Festival, where guests of all ages can get into the fall spirit with friends and family. Some highlights of the festival will include:
- Live music, including music from local artists Lua Project and Bramblefoot
- Food trucks provided by The Roaming Coyote, The Dog House, Red Truck Bakery and MooThru
- Local libations provided by Powers Brewery and Slater Run Vineyard
- Family fun activities including kids games, inflatables, a scavenger hunt, a hay bale competition, cover crop maze and more!
- Educational plant talks and field walks on a variety of topics around the vegetable farm and in the Rokeby Wildlife Garden
- Display exhibitions
- Educational booths to learn more about what’s happening at Oak Spring and other local environmental organizations across the Piedmont area
- Selection of local craft market stalls
- Plant and gift shop sale (credit card only)
Please note this event is exclusively on the Rokeby side of Oak Spring Garden Foundation. Admittance to the Festival does not provide access to Little Oak Spring.
The Oak Spring Garden Foundation is a legacy of the designer, horticulturalist and philanthropist Rachel Lambert “Bunny” Mellon. Mrs. Mellon’s hope was that her extensive collection of rare books, artwork, and other materials relating to plants, gardens, and landscapes could continue to be used for education and inspiration.
