Bristerburg

Bristersburg is a well-preserved historic village and was once an important commercial center in souther Fauquier, with numerous stores and businesses.  During the Colonial Era and through the 1820s the village thrived as a major trading center along a major stagecoach road from Fredericksburg to Winchester.

The crossroads village of Atoka is a small time-capsule from the 19th and early 20th centuries who’s buildings and setting recall an era before interstates and planned communities, enhanced by an aura of Mosby and his men who frequented the area during the Civil War and J.E.B Stuart who stopped here on his way to the battle of Gettysburg.

Ada

Ada was named for Ada Payne, who married Nelson DeNeale, shte son of area landowner, George DeNeale, in the 1890’s.
